Making sense of recent developments in Libya's energy sector
This article looks at the major developments such as relevant conferences, new policy initiatives, or field rehabilitations that took place over the last two weeks in Libya.
From 22-24 April, Tripoli hosted the Technology of Oil and Gas and Sustainable Energy International Conference and Exhibition (TOGSE). The conference revolved around the need for restructuring the NOC’s Oil Research Centre (ORC) to boost its capabilities and focus on scientific research in favour of the corporation and its subsidiaries. According to National Oil Corporation (NOC) Farhat Bengdara, the ORC is expected to play an effective role in preparing reservoir studies, which have so far been done by foreign companies.
